Here's the deal:

The Zip Chip produces RFI (Radio Frequency Interferance) that
screws up the RamFAST on some systems. Several years ago, I called Drew
Vogan about another problem and he mentioned this anomaly... he also
mentioned a "Zip mod" that could be done to the card to make it less
sensitive to the interferance. Unfortunately, at the time I didn't have a
Zip Chip, and failed to write down the info.

A couple years ago, I did put a Zip Chip in my IIe with a Rev B
RamFAST, and it did work, but when I upgraded my 2.01c RamFAST ROM's I
encountered similiar problems that you are describing. Finally removed
the newer ROM's and went back to the 2.01 ROM's.

Solution? Ask around for someone that still has the older ROM's
and try them, maybe Sequential can help you out... No real biggie unless
you have more than 2 partitions on your hard drive. Even then you can get
around the 2 partiton limit by putting your RF in slot 5 so that the
smartport mapping can allow you up to 4 partitions.

	Hope this helps.
