I have mine on my startup disk, but it is not the first file there so it 
is not active. Once I set the chip the way I wanted it, some 6 years ago 
I think, it has stayed that way. The bars bythe way are normal.
There should be a short pause and then your system should boot. I have 
mine up on my //e that runs a BBS and it boots cold from a 5.25 floppy, 
so if you are booting to a HD you may have to have the system file there 
along with ProDOS
