I think you're being too extreme here. It's nosyness, and scepticism ...
not a witch hunt. Yes, you have (for the first time, if I get that right)
given academic references that can be verified. Which is good. It really is
customary to give such references without being bugged to death for them;
can you see where the doubt comes from?

Fair enough, mate. Just think: You've manouvered yourself into a position
where defence seems necessary. It didn't just "happen" to you. Just a
thought to model future action on, perhaps ...
