Re: Kermit?
When not using the ][gs, I use Kermit-65.
Also, I discovered the hard way this past week that Kermit-65 does NOT
like the Enhanced ][e. I have both an original ][e and an enhanced //e,
and when I went on vacation last week, I took along the enhanced machine.
Big mistake, since I had not already tried it. For some reason, I can't
get either Kermit or ProTerm 1.0 (!) to work on this machine; both
programs work just fine on the unenhanced ][e.
But, yeah. I use Kermit. Its only problem on the unenhanced E is the
lack of display support, and since my on-line service doesn't use a
scrolling display, it's no big deal. The VT-100 emulation is really quite
good, and I can use XMODEM file transfer protocol, and I can use Kermit
when uploading to certain UNIX machines which refuse to admit to the
existence of anything faster.
