Ok, the '500 arrived today.  ADTPro decides that there's a SSC in both
slots 1 and 2 (even though slot 1 is actually a parallel port).  I'll
see if I can make a better determination about that.  But anyway...
once I switched to SSC slot 2, it ran like a champ at 115.2k.  So it
looks like the Franklin ACE 500 is completely compatible with the SSC
at the hardware level.
