You need one of the following:

a.  Apple 5.25" disk drive with a DB-19 connector or equivalent, which you
can connect to the daisy-chain port on the back of the 3.5" drive.

b.  Apple Disk ][ or equivalent with the 20-pin IDC connector, and an
adapter cable for the GS drive port

c.  Apple Disk ][ or equivalent and a Disk ][ Controller card or equivalent.

Use a drive designed for use with Apple disks.  Other types of 5.25" drive
use incompatible recording formats, not to mention incompatible cable
connectors.
