If you set it up in local mode, then don't expect it to connect with
another modem since as far as its concern there it is not supposed to
take calls. Your modem may answer the incoming call but metal will just
ignore it. You should have something like this in your metal config file:
MODEM=<GENERIC.MODEM>
MODEMQUITYPE=<USR>
MODEMPORT=<GS.PORT>
the modemtype=<usr> will vary depending on your modem, its not nessesary
thoug.

You need a ProTERM hardware hanskaking cable, that works the best!!
Wait a minute Intrec is ProTERM duh :) Not thinking too hard this mornig
:) Your cable should be allright. No problems there.

Wait a minute, supra is NOT the problem, I think that what is happening
is that you do not have the proper metal.config for a supra modem. There
is one and it works great (from what I have been told by other Supra
metal BBS sysops). If you are interested I will dig it up and post it for
you. My conclusions, you need the metal.config for a supra and everything
should work, you also need the modem result codes which will be in the
config file, this will allow metal to return the actual baud rate and all
that info. Again, I will dig it up for you and post it here.

Oh boy, just BUG the living you know what out of Tony Diaz. I know of
users who have been waiting for over one year just to get a site id. What
does not help is that most of those users do not send all the nessesary
information and Tony does NOT tell them what is missing either. So if you
want a Futurenet ID, then I suggest you keep sending email to him untill
you get a reply and send the PROPER information and things will be smooth
and not take a long time. No I am not saying that Tony is the slow one,
just that if you do not send all that is required you will be waiting a
long time for an ID. Here is what you need to send him
BBS Name
BBS Location
BBS Phone number
Site you would like to link with
I beilave thats it, with metal, you can link to ANY site on the network,
no need to link with those so called hubs like many other bbs networks.
Hope this helps:)
