Yes, that would be a problem. How much RAM do you have? If you have
enough to spare, you could set up a RAMdisk of sufficient size, and then
copy the decompressed files to the 3.5's. Of course, the best advice
would be to get a SCSI card and HD. Once you do, you'll never believe
you actually got along without one.
