Re: HCGS at ftp.support.apple.com

In our last episode, progreen@ncw.net (Chuck Orem) said:

A) Remain calm. It's only software.
B) Strip off the Mac-o-centric (tm) header, which appears to be 512 luscious,
informative bytes long. If you have the files on a Unix box, try:

dd if="Annoying Long Filename (From Apple (Inc))" of=hc1.bxy skip=1 bs=512

...or countless other solutions (I used dd yesterday for about the first time
in five years, so this one occurs to me offhand). If you don't have a Unix
account, find your own solution (something like ProDOS List would do in a
pinch).

C) Extract the shrunk file from the binary II file, then unshrink it to disk.
D) Lather, rinse, repeat five times.
E) Try to be less lame in your next post.
