HELP with large text files

     I have some large files 2+ megabytes that I would like to look at
but run out memory because all programs that I have tried want to load 
it all in at once.  Does any one know of a utility   thatwill spit up 
the file  into smaller ones?  Or of any other way that I can looks at these 
files.
