Have you tried reformatting the drive with the utilities?  How big of a
Sider is it?  (10m, 20m, or 40m?)  I've got my Cider 10m in slot 7, so
my system boots on it.  I'm really pleased with the drive.

No clue there.  Running the installation disk to reformat the drive in
the slot you want it in could possibly take care of the problem, or not.
Once formatted, you should run the ProSel-8 program MR FIXIT to lock out
the bad blocks (my drive has 12 of them!) just in case.
