][gs giving me static!
Today, I was sitting at my desk at work when my ][gs there started to do
something strange. Here's the configuration:
ROM 01 GS
Apple RGB monitor (GS-type)
512k memory
Disk Port: Apple 3.5, Unidisk 5.25
Printer Port: ImageWriter ][
What it did was give me static. That is, for no apparent reason,
crackling came from the speaker. Nothing else seemed amiss; the system
self-test is a "pass". There are no additional add-ons to this system; I
was running either AppleWorks or my own DOS 3.3-based BASIC database
program when it happened. That is to say, it's happened while running
both of these programs...and, in fact, when running no program at all.
About a month ago, I had serious problems... "Unclaimed sound interrupt"
was common, as was a 5.25" disk drive that didn't sound or work right. I
traced that to a bad power supply and swapped the supply for a good one.
Now, everything works fine. But the crackling worries me a little.

(How many of you are using ][gs's at *work* [][gs programmers excepted]?)
