Second comments on Second Sight

Don't bother looking for my first comments -- I never wrote any!  :-)

Just some quick comments....

- Installation was a pain.  The second sight board went in fine (and I have
not yet screwed the cable onto the backplane), but moving the Zip from slot
3 to slot 1 was painful.  And now that my Zip is in slot 1, and I can't have
an internal fan!  Maybe I'll get lucky and I won't need the fan anymore....

- The new display is amazing!  I ran both the Second Sight (connected to
a 15" SVGA monitor) and the Apple RGB color monitor (connected to the GS
video out) at the same time.  Now, I think my GS monitor is dying -- it's
dim, and sometimes it seems to flicker.  Putting the color/brightness
aside (the newer SVGA monitor wins hands down), the size and clarity of
the standard Apple display on a 15" SVGA monitor is really amazing.  I
didn't test out any fast moving games, so I can't say anything about the
screen update speed.

- And of course, it's really cool to fire up the GIF viewer and see a
640x480, lots-of-colors GIF....

I'm glad I got one.
