Try using Brian's Sound Tool on the MAC. That's what I use to convert all
sound files to .WAV, then they are all RAW data only, (excluding the
icon/resource fork). That's the method I use, with no problems.

Yes, (to some degree - Ian Schmidt is still around) he can be located on
the #AppleIIGS IRC channel or you might be able to email him via his WWW
