It's nice to see that USA Today will run a story about orphaned computers and mention the Apple II..
One of the hardest things I ever did was abandon my IIgs for a PC486-DX2-66.
A few years ago a good friend of mine said he would stick with his Apple because it got the job done.
I agreed then, but today it just doesn't hold true anymore - not when so much work is becoming Internet
intensive.
I suppose Apple could have transformed the machine into something really great, but it was crippled
by its video capibility, and making old programs forward compatible would have been a waste of
effort/cost ratio.
All I can say is pull out those old FTA demos, take another look, and remember what might have been.
