Hard Drive Problems

Ever since I have gotten a ramFAST I have periodically had a rather
strange and annoying problem. Sometimes when the system crashes, the
screen goes all blinky, and the image on the monitor jumps about a
half-inch, just like when you change from 60 to 50 mhz. When I try to
reboot, the finder re-appears immediately in the same configuration it
was in when it crashed, but with a red border. Once I turn off the
computer and wait 10 seconds, everything is ok, usually. Another problem
I have noticed is that the structure of certain particians will suddenly,
and for no apparant reason, collapse making all of the directories on
that partician unreadable. Yet another strange occurance involves what
happened when I formatted the drive after the most severe of these
catastrophies- the ramFAST (as I understand it) has always set up any
drive I have formatted in the largest chunks approching 32 megs it can,
but such that the size of the particians are equal. When I reformatted
it this last time, it gave me 8 17meg particians from a 160mb drive. The
drive is SCSI 2 (or so I have been told) but everyone I have talked to
claims that the ramFAST can handle SCSI 2. The computer (if this helps)
is a rom 1. If anyone can help with any of these horrifying problems,
please let me know, because this is just the beginning...
                           Desperately,
                                       Brian Ground
