You didn't say which computer, or if a //e, which interface card, or what 
program is doing this, but I'll guess AppleWorks, and answer it that way. 
Under the printer setup, in Interface card, it should say [Control - 
I80N]. If the [Control - ] is missing, you will get just what he's seeing.
