   The system runs at the speed of the clock, not the ram. Ram must
be fast enough to put out the data as requested by the clock, but if
the data is ready in a shorter amount of time, it won't be processed
anyhow until the right clock tick.

    Only a faster clock, faster microprocessor that can sustain that
level, and ram fast enough to handle memory accesses at that speed
will speed things up.
