Re: Thoughts about Second
I like the comment about Apple II enthusiests (sp?) as it sounds about right.
I get asked a lot why I still use Apple IIs, and for me the answer's pretty
simple... It'd cost about $4,000 to replace what I've got _now_ with another
computer/software. Personally, I've got better things to do with four grand
(if I had it in the first place). I get to use the latest and greatest at
work, and I still have a Woz GS on my desk (I'm using right now), a IIe
across the room, and a PB that work paid for. heh, heh I usually have at
least two of them running at the same time, I call it brute force
multi-tasking :) AS it's been mentioned before, if you genuinely _need_ a
high speed, high resolution color system _and_ have the resources the best
solution is to buy a system that fits that bill. For me, Second Sight offers
and additional capability (and an opportunity for some fun hacking) to an
already impressive list. The Apple II has always been a jack-of-all-trades
and master of none, and Second Sight just adds to the list. Neat stuff.
