A couple of known problems with the GS port of inform 5.4 (forgot to include
this in earlier posts and the readme file)
1) The -m option has a slight problem with displaying array allocations.
Internally, everything is fine, but the printout lists garbage where it
usually prints what was allocated and the size field is displayed wrong.
I'm looking into this, but it's a cosmetic thing as far as I'm concerned.
2) When printing story statistics after compilation, sometimes the number
of characters it compiled overflows and it prints an (obviously) inaccurate
negative number.
These may be problems with ORCA (the C compiler used...), I'm looking into
workarounds.
Otherwise, everything seems to be working dandy. I mentioned memory
requirements...at least 1.5 megs free are needed to compile the advent.inf
file, so I'm working on recompiling with temporary files enabled which should
hopefully cut down on memory requirements.
I've been playing with the compiler, working through some of the examples in
the designer's manual, and everything is checking out. I'm interested to hear
feedback, though.
I'm going to check out the source to txd (a disassembler for compiled inform
and infocom data files), so keeps your eyes peeled.
