proterm can cut the file into smaller chunks, although you'll have to pay 
attention to where the breaks are, and may have to edit out slight 
overlaps. use the file:view files command (proterm is shipped with the 
key sequence option-v to do this.) this will let you view any monster 
size text file a page at a time. use the edit button at the bottom of the 
screen to transfer pages to the editor - the dialogue will prompt for how 
many, or, as it says, leave blank for maximum. then save the smaller 
chunks from the editor.
