//e help! :)
Greetings, all.. :)
Here's my problem:
I recently finished a microprocessor class at my local college, and it
stimulated my interest in the chips, so I decided to explore a bit..
I went down to the local used computer shop, and rooted around until I
found an Apple //e system to tinker with. :)
Here's where the problem is: I have A) No operating system for it, B) no
RF converter to attach it to my TV, and C) no technical info (or very
little) on the machine..
What I'm looking for is the ability to fiddle with the hardware and write
assembly language on this machine, although nothing really complex...
Q: Since I have no boot disk (//e & Duodisk), is it possible to download
an image of some sort (or emulator) for my PC and format an old 360K
floppy to boot the //e?
I am mainly a heavy PC tech buff, and have little experience with macs or
the old apples.. :)
Any suggestions?
(the machine apparently has 64K on the board with 64K on an expansion
board, with a board for the duodisk, a superserial something in slot 1,
and a Microsoft board with a Z-80 processor on it..)
Any tips to what the things are on this system?
Also, pointers to tech specs & hardware diagrams, etc.. (really techie..
:) would be very appreciated.. :)
