That sums it up pretty well. (Please note that said minor was actively
searching for the sort of experience that ultimately occured. This is,
of course, no excuse--but without that piece of info, it's easy to read
"sexual offense" as "attack", and that's not what happened.)
I currently expect he'll be out in under a year.

Not sure exactly what you're getting at; priests and teachers spend time in
jail when they break the law, too. I do, however, think that media coverage
was rather one-sided, and that coverage and even sentencing would have been
different had the Information Superhighway not been a hot new topic.
