On the sub-sub-thread of cheap CDROMs. I got a Toshiba external
3x-speed with a 50pin/50pin cable (for chaining off on an external HD)
and terminator and FWB CD accellerator (for the Mac) from MacWarehouse
for $179. It works really well. The FWB accellerator I gave away
since I didn't need it. 3x-speed doesn't do a whole lot more than 2x-speed,
but try to get that kind of deal on a 2x-speed drive. It's 1/2
height and light enough that I can pass it off between my (SCSI-bus)
PC-clone and my IIGS. MacWarehouse calls it their "Power User 3x"
