AWGS SS Translator...Why not?

So why can't one (or two :-)) of the whizbang GS programmers out there 
reverse engineer the AppleWorks GS spreadsheet file format, and write 
some sort of a translator that will convert them intact with formulas to 
even only one other popular format, ready for transferring to a different 
machine?

I know that personally, I have several business spreadsheets I would pay 
a tidy sum to be able to move over to another platform, say ClarisWorks 
for Windoze. I know one or two others in the same boat.

The thought of rekeying all of the formulas for a sheet that goes from A1 
to EZ175 or so (27,000 cells or so, but not all of them are used) and 
then redebugging it makes me blanch.

Any takers?
