i can't directly answer that because i bought mine from joachim directly
on my last visit to germany.
: 2) any installation problems?
absolutely none. the card has been in for almost 2 years with not a
single problem. the hard drive seems as happy as ever. i haven't needed
to use the setup disk again since installation. the only thing i never
could tell, was whether it is possible to set up a partition larger that
32meg for HFS.
: 3) Does it integrate well with the Apple II- ie any software-drive
: incompatibilities?
no problems. every piece of software is happy. obviously copy protected
stuff is a different story. (megademo from ninja force may have been the
only 'software' that didn't like the card, but big woopee)
: 4) Is it notably faster than a comparable Apple high-speed SCSI card +
: drive system (my second choice)?
sorry, i have no comparison. it sure beats the 3.5 floppy. a boot with a
spinning hard drive to prodos 8 is fast - 1 second or so. GSOS boot time
depends on what's installed, but i'll try a shift boot if you want.
: Thanks for your input!
