While Solder Wick is great stuff, I STRONGLY suggest the $2 "desoldering
bulb".  It's basically a big red vacuum bulb with a pointed Teflon tip. 
Just heat the solder, squeeze the bulb, put the tip against the board, and
release the bulb.  SLURP!  The solder clogs up the tip.  Then use the
Solder Wick to remove the rest.
