Bernoulli 44 vs Syquest 44

Hi I created a big Disaster for my self the other day. I had a while back
been given 12 Iomega Bernoulli 44 meg Removable Cartridge's. Much to my
surprise They ARE different from Syquest 44meg Cartridge's. I HAD NO IDEA.
I was under the impression they were the same thing, just different
manufactuers. (Boy was I Wrong). Well just recently I purchased a used
external 44meg syquest for a 100.00. IT WAS in working order when I bought
it. When I got home and proceeded to hook everything up and then put the
cartridge in thats where the problem became apparent, but not before
pressing the cartridge inand then having it pull inside and
thats when I heard a wrinkle and crunch sound. I Knew instantly This was
very bad. But there was nothing I could do. well after getting the Disk
back out and opening the drive, I found that the Drive Head assy. was bent
and mangled, and that the arm that is susposed to move the dust cover to
the side ruined the 44meg cartridge also. I dont ever remember seeing
anything about the fact that these two drive are different. Im sure there
was, but I wish the whole Damn industry would standardize on things like
this, or make them different enough so that accident like this wouldnt
happen. So now Im still stuck with 11 44meg Bernoulli Cartridge's and a
Squest with mangled and useless read/write heads. Any ideas, offers, Help
out there. A possible fix maybe? Does anyone have a Bernoulli 44 drive
for sale?
