Funny yours was internal.  I bought mine (before I sold it) 
as an external.  The mechanism itself isn't 1/2-height, and it
isn't full-height, it's like 3/4 height, so I stuck it back in
the external housing.  The housing, by the way has a left and
right audio out for stereo sound.

Are you sure you have a CDSC?  Is it at least a caddy drive?  If
not, you might have a CD150 or something.  Right now I have an
external triple-speed I got new from MacWarehouse for $199 (same
price an external dbl-speed, I don't care if triple's aren't really
faster).
