Different symptoms. The Easy Access "problem" on a ROM 1 machine is
with programs that go into a loop waiting for keypress with interrupts
locked out.
Easy Access requires interrupts to be enabled for any keystrokes
(including Ctrl-Apple-Reset) to be processed, so no keys ever arrive,
and the computer must be switched off and on again (or a hardware
reset must be generated, e.g. with an ex-IIe's built-in keyboard, a
debounced reset button connected to the slot RESET pin, etc.)
This is generally only a problem with older software, particularly
older 8-bit software. It is rarely, if ever, a problem with desktop
programs such as HyperCard.
Besides, the "boink" that Dave mentioned implies that the computer
crashed into the monitor, which is definitely not anything to do with
Easy Access.
