: I've been totally unable to mount a ProDOS hard disk to my mac.. stupid
: driver seems to require that *&$^&(^#(& HFS format.
: If you have a friend with a IIGS, you might try hanging the hard disk off
: it, and use Localtalk to move the files to the mac, then hang the drive on
: the mac and use something like FWB utilities to format it (last I tried,
: the standard Apple HD Setup would not work), then put the files back on

I've never tried this but it works perfect with ProDOS 3.5" disks:
there's a system extension called somewhat with prodos in it's name which
enabled the mac finder to mount any ProDOS disk straight on the desktop.
no data convert etc. needed. as I said, I've never tried it with any other
ProDOS media than 3.5" disks, but I can't see why it shouldn't work.
if you can't find that extension, drop me an email and I'll mail you a
HQX'ed copy of it...
hope this helps, Xn.
