This is possible if the file you're importing is a database or 
spreadsheet file from AppleWorks 4 or later.  I believe the translators 
work only with AppleWorks files up to the last Claris version, v3.  
However, the word processor file format has never been changed.  (I'm 
sorry, I missed the beginning of this thread, sorry if this is old news.)

What Dennis said about the file translation stuff in AFE, although I 
think if you're using AFE you'll have an easier time of things if you 
turn off the ProDOS File System extension or PC Exchange (the new version 
of PC Exchange, included with System 7.5, can read ProDOS disks as well 
as MS-DOS disks).
