strangely, i had the same problem w/ a Datalink 2400 modem i
recently acquired and Proterm 2.1...
See, Proterm only recognizes the 1200 version of the Datalink, so I've
listed some other (I forget) 2400 baud modem, at least on the version I use,
2.1...
anyway, it damaged my proterm disk somehow and i got the screen freezees
whenever i tried to send (Ascii, mainly)...good thing i had a back up...
sorry i can't get more techical...i didn;t really investigate it
since the problem was easily solved with a back up.  The problem hasn't
happened again.  I'm not offering any know how, just a voice
saying i've been there...
