The heaviness of the stand was needed to counteract the tipping forward 
of the monitor which when suspended above the IIc had a tendency to fall 
forward. This was because Apple thought the IIc looked better underneath 
the monitor rather than in front of it like the GS was.

:     computer came out, but it was ultimately released.  Most of the reviews
:     I read about it at the time were rather negative, indicating that the

You'd think some enterprising individuals would take the present laptop 
technology and use some spare LCD screens available today with the new 
technology and make a few screens for the IIc. There must some laptops 
that have cooked their insides and their screens are spare parts.
