That depends on what you mean by "original Apple II."
Would you believe 4K. That is what was on the Apple II (not II+)
motherboard I bought from Apple in 1978. It had jumper blocks so that it
was possible to upgrade to 48K by using 16k chip sets instead of 4K sets.
I paid $75 per 16K set in 1979.
