Actually, late models of the Apple 3.5 Drive (800k) had the
same bulky plug cable. Mine has quite a longer and thicker tail attached
to the D-style connector, forcing you to leave a bit more space behind
your IIgs (if used as the first drive in your chain, as I do). The serial
number is: Y9B0024 -- probably one of the last batches of 800k external
drives manufactured, since Apple Canada sent it to me around 1990 with
a replacement ROM 3 GS.
