Even though I was a Contributing Editor to inCider/A+, I don't know the
entire story of why inCider/A+ folded, but I don't think that it can be
summed up by saying it was lack of advertising.

I believe that inCider's parent company wanted to "get out when the
getting was good." To my understanding, in the last 12 months before
inCider closed shop, it had 1 Million dollars of revenue from ads. Paul
Statt told me that. And, according to him, inCider was profitable until
the end.

I think there were two factors that led to its closing. The parent
company, IMHO, believed that both revenues from subscriptions and ads
were expected to fall, and when they were debating how to handle it and
what to do in the future, Quality came and made their offer. I don't
have a clue as to what the details of the offer were, but my guess is
that the timing of the offer was perfect, as it gave inCider's parent
company an out and they no longer had to worry about the future and the
possibility of falling revenues.

Of course, all the above is speculation as all my dealings with inCider
were with the editorial staff and I never had any dealings with the
business-people. But, it's fun to speculate...
