I didn't have BASIC programs in mind when I started the contest. Since
what you can do in 256 bytes of BASIC is vastly different from what you
can do in 256 bytes of assembler, I think it would be better to restrict
the contest to assembler programs only.

I am very interested in BASIC one- and two-liners, though, and I have
written a few myself. Depending on how this contest goes, I may do one
for BASIC programs too, later.

Already published means you've been paid for them, in money or otherwise.
