VOC: HELP!!!
AAAAAUGH!
I've got problems with my Video Overlay Card, now that I want to use it...
Here's the story. My computer is set up as follows--
ROM 01 IIgs
5MB memory (IIgs memory card hooked to a 4MB card)
20Mb Vulcan HD in Slot 5, pseudo-slotted to Slot #7
VOC in Slot 3
Video camcorder output to VOC input
VOC RGB output to IIgs standard RGB monitor.
As long as there is no NTSC signal to the VOC, it works fine.
When I connect an NTSC signal the camera signal passes just fine. But the
IIgs signal gets trounced. Wide diagonal bars appear on the screen, and
the computer video dances wildly. I don't mean the usual amount of
jitter, I mean it literally fails to lock up.
For what it's worth, I've had the machine since January, and I've had the
monitor hooked to the VOC since Day #1. When I first got the system, I
tried the VOC and it worked fine. Suddenly, now, I can't get it to work.
I do have an extension cable on my monitor signal, but I tried taking that
out of the line and had the same result.
I have not yet tried another video cable, though that is my next step.
I re-secured the video I/O connector to the back of the computer in hopes
that there was a problem with grounding or shielding, with no success.
I'm open to suggestions...any ideas, anyone?
Oh...I haven't tried looking at the NTSC output from the VOC yet, since I
don't have an NTSC monitor handy, but I could come up with one. Again,
when I disconnect the NTSC signal from the VOC, the display is beautiful
(like right now).
Any suggestions welcomed!
