NSC Woes aid(?)

Dreamer cracked the whip and commanded:

a| Well, thanks to the kind folks who sent me Smartwatch (and one
  | other product).

Very welcome...

  | GBBS recognizes it, but that is the ONLY program that appears to
  | recognize it. AppleWorks, Apple Writer, ProSEL, & Cat Doctor were
  | unable to recognize the clock. What have I done wrong/forgotten ?

Question: Are you running the NSC driver before running these programs?
Granted, I'm not on a Platinum, but I always run the NS.Clock.System
dealie-bob before anything else (including ProTerm 3.1, which has the
ability to recognise the clock! See, when I exit the program I still
have the capability of reading the NSC, instead of having the ability
go away with the program). AppleWorks 4.02 recognises my clock thusly.
Haven't tried it with Apple Writer (is there a problem?) or the ProSel
utilities (never use 'em).
