Appleworks 5.0 -- crashes my IIgs!

Well, I bought Appleworks 5.0 and installed it on my IIgs.

The first problem: The 8 bit installer locks up at accelerated
speeds. I only could get it to run at 1 MHz!

The BIG problem: AW5 is unstable on my system! It crashes into the
monitor! I've tried booting straight into ProDOS, I've tried lowering
the ZipGS speed via the Zip CDA, I've reloaded my System 6.0.1 software,
I've reloaded AW5, I've shift booted, ....... nothing works.

The only way to apparently stabilize the system is to run it at 1 MHz!

This obviously doesn't seem right! Anyone have any experience or possible
ideas on why this is happening?

System Facts:

ROM 01, 4 MB, System 6.0.1, RamFAST 3.0.1e, 14/64 ZipGS.
