I have a Franklin 5.25" disk controller--- it works perfectly and I 
will swap it for a working Apple brand drive controller --- either a 
Unidisk db-19 card or a Disk II drive controller.  As the writer suggests,
this card has more ICs but functionally it will operate one or two 
5.25" drives.
