3.5" Controller Cards

How does one tell the difference between a Apple Liron controller card
that supports 800k 3.5" drives and the Apple 3.5 controller card that
supports 1.44M drives?? I have a card from Apple that states it is a
"Apple 3.5 Floppy Disk Drive Interface Card �1985". Does anyone know if
this card will support 1.44M drives. Thanks in advance......
