I have seen the future, and it is spelled FAXination.
Despite the initial problems that many people have reported with using
FAXination, Vitesse has released a series of updates to correct
problems. They have just sent v1.0.5 to several people who had
reported problems, and since I had problems receiving faxes on my
LineLink 144e, I was asked to try out the v1.0.5Beta.
Thanks to Apple Computer Inc's FaxBack service (1-800-505-0171), I
have just received a 6 page fax and printed it out with absolutely no
problems whatsoever! FAXination now works great!
No tricks of any sort were required. I was at the Finder to try my
tests. I printed the fax from the Finder as well, just by clicking on
FAXination's Print Fax option.
Vitesse sent the v1.0.5 Beta to about 3 or 4 other people. I've only
seen one other report, and that too reported great success in
overcoming several different problems that had been previously
reported.
When reports come in from the rest of the Beta Testers, this v1.0.5
will become available on Vitesse's BBS. From the looks of things, that
should be real soon now.
I think that Vitesse and Steve McQueen (Da Programmer) deserve a great
round of applause, and they deserve your support. In just a few short
weeks, they have released a series of updates to correct problems, and
it looks like v1.0.5 is a real winner! I can now send and receive
Faxes from my IIGS! Thanks Vitesse!!
