First a note: Comp.binaries.apple2 is for software uploading. Your
question should be asked on comp.sys.apple2 or maybe comp.sys. (whatever
the PC feed names are). I've replied on comp.sys.apple2.
Without special hardware PC drives CAN NOT read Apple II disks. Central
Points Option board comes to mind.
Next, do you want just the text transfered or would you like the
formatting to come along with it? Just "converting it to MS-DOS/Windows"
does not give me much of an idea what you want. Are the AW (1.0? Oh
brother that's old!) files just word processor files or do you have some
database and spread sheet files too? What applications do you plan to
use these file on on the PC side? Word for Windows, MS Works, Excel?
There is a piece of software/hardware called Crossworks that will convert
Appleworks files to some PC formats. Comes with a serial cable where you
run software on both machines and hook them up togeather via serial and
copy the files over.
I can also do the conversion for you for a price. E-mail me with the
number, size and types of files and I can give you a quote.
