I recently bought a modem for my apple IIc, and I'm having trouble connecting
to a local timesharing service.  I tried three different comm programs.  The
modem will dial and connect, but I just get garbage all over the screen,
instead of text.  I set the emulation type, flow, parity, speed, etc. to what
I was told to set them to and I still get garbage.  If anyone has seen this
before and knows what's wrong, please e-mail me.
