You are mistaken. No version of the IIc has a cassette interface
(either input or output). The only Apple IIs with cassette interfaces
are the II, II+ and IIe.
You are probably thinking of the speaker output, which is a provided
as a 3.5 mm socket for an earplug or set of headphones, with a volume
knob beside it. I believe this was removed from the IIc+.
The IIgs has a similar connector (with software control of volume).
