No reason it shouldn't work OK.
Do you have to reboot to change diskettes is your 3.5" or 5.25"
drives? No. You shouldn't have to in the floptical either.
OTOH, how expensive is a floptical drive when compared to a new
hard drive. If you're not likely to increase the size of your
disk farm, it might be cheaper to just buy a large hard drive.
