how to use inews

Can someone show me the file format that inews uses?
I am writing an offline News reader and would like it to
have a reply function. When I reply, I want to save the
replies in a file and have inews to read this file and
send the articles accordingly. My problem is I don't
know what inews is expecting in this file. I read the man
page for inews and it is of no help. Tks.
