I just read the MacWarehouse ad a little closer. The unit has a seek time
of 29ns. and a transfer rate of 1.25MB/sec. (It came from an advetisement
though -- so beware).
General info (from memory now):
The Zip Drive is a new 3.5 inch removable hard drive. It is neither SyQuest
nor Bernoulli compatible. Its main feature is price. The unit is very
compact (1.5 x 5.35 x 7.25 inches). The MacWarehouse ad shows someone
placing the unit in a briefcase. I guess an attempt to target the laptop/
notebook market.
As I mentioned before, it is $199.95 for the unit + one 100MB cartridge.
Oh, it is a SCSI device.
